Bella Warda, an Iranian American, is a founding member of the Darvag Theater Company, which was founded in Berkeley in 1985 with the dual mission of exploring creative expression in theater arts and maintaining a vital living connection with the group's Iranian heritage....

She has also been a board member and treasurer of Darvag Arts Foundation since it became a nonprofit organization in 1995. She is fluent in English, Farsi, and Assyrian, and among other works has translated Ariel Dorfman's Death and the Maiden into Farsi.
