Ernesto Mestre is the author of three novels, The Lazarus Rumba, The Second Death of Única Aveyano and the forthcoming Sacrificio, has translated fours novels from the Spanish, and has received fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. He is Professor of Fiction at Sarah Lawrence College and Brooklyn College.
