Liza Bakewell

Liza Bakewell, Ph.D., is a Research Associate at the Center for Latin American Studies in the Thomas J. Watson, Jr. Institute for International Studies at Brown University, where she directs the Mesolore Project. Her most recent publication, co-authored, is Mesolore: Exploring Mesoamerican Cultures, a multi-mediated study of Indigenous (Mixtec) writing and literature from Mesoamerica. Among the grants she has received are a Fulbright Fellowship (1987, 1988), National Science Foundation Grants (1988, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2004) and Ford Foundation grants (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000).
