Mark Halperin has been a Fulbright lecturer in Russia and returned often as an exchange professor in Moscow and St. Petersburg. New Issues, of Western Michigan University, published his fourth volume of poetry, Time as Distance. Professor Georgeoliani and he have published translations from the work of Kharms, Platonov, and Kushner, among others.
