Scott E. Myers (梦之恩) is a translator of Chinese who focuses on contemporary queer fiction from the PRC. He holds a BA in philosophy from Hampshire College and master’s degrees in comparative literature from New York University, Chinese translation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, and East Asian languages and civilizations from the University of Chicago....

A former union organizer, his translation of a retail worker’s diary appears in the book Walmart in China. In 2016, his translation of one of China’s earliest gay novels, Beijing Comrades by Bei Tong, was published by The Feminist Press. He recently completed a translation of Mu Cao’s 2003 novel Outcast. His translations of Mu’s poems were published in the Winter 2014 issue of the literary journal ep;phany. Originally from California, he lives in Denver, Colorado, where he teaches Mandarin at a high school.
