The King Fahd Center awards an annual prize up to $10,000 for the best book-length translation of Arabic literature from any of the following genres: poetry, novel, short story collection, drama, or literary non-fiction such as autobiography or memoir. Submitted translations must be previously unpublished in book form. All translation rights must be cleared for publication.

what: Certificate in Applied Literary Translation: The Center for Translation Studies at the University of Illinois and Dalkey Archive Press now invite applications for the summer session of their joint Certificate in Applied Literary Translation, a program providing an intensive training experience that will result in the publication by Dalkey Archive of the translator’s first book-length translation.It is intended for translators at an early stage in their careers who will benefit from practical training in both translation and the process of publishing literary translations.
