Andrzej Tichý was born in 1978 in Prague and lives in Malmö, Sweden. He has written four novels, two of which were nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize. His most recent novel, Eländet (Wretchedness, forthcoming in 2020 from And Other Stories), won the 2018 Eyvind Johnson Prize and was nominated for Sweden’s prestigious August Prize.
A translator and lover of Swedish and Norwegian literature, Nichola Smalley is also a publicist at And Other Stories and an escaped academic. She’s lived in Berlin, Stockholm and Rio de Janeiro, but London is her home. You can find her (very occasionally) on Twitter @tallnicky.
