Sashko Ushkalov (born 1983) is a Ukrainian writer, literary scholar, and translator. He lives in Kyiv, Ukraine. He is the author of a book of poetry, a collection of absurdist plays, a novel, and a collection of short stories, and the co-author of a book for children. He is the editor of three anthologies of poetry. He is a translator of German poetry and prose. His works have been translated into Russian, Polish, German, and French.
Iryna Shuvalova is a prize-winning poet and translator from Ukraine. She is a Fulbright scholar and a holder of an MA degree in Comparative Literature from Dartmouth College. Her first book of poems Ran, published in 2011, has won numerous national awards. At the moment, she has two new poetry collections in print. Her poems have been translated into eight languages. In 2011 Iryna became the recipient of the Joseph Brodsky / Stephen Spender Prize for her translation of Sergei Chegra’s poem The Prayer of the Touch.
