Adonis

Born in 1930 in Qassabin, Northern Syria, Adonis divides his life between his home country, Lebanon, and France. A critic and reviewer, Adonis is above all a poet. He has been building a lyrical meditative oeuvre (including The Pages of Night and Day, The Marlboro Press/Northwestern, 2001) for more than thirty years, seeking osmosis between tradition and modernity and Eastern and Western worlds.
