Amarsana Ulzytuev was born in 1963 in the Buryatian capital of Ulan-Ude and graduated from the prestigious Gorky Literature Institute. He has recently published his fourth book, The New Anaphoras (Vremya/Time); his first three are Morning Forever (2002), Abovenew (2009; with an afterword by Alexander Eremenko), and Anaphora. Amarsana’s reading of his poems closed the 2013 Baykal Poetry Festival (min. 4-16). Amarsana’s poems in Alex Cigale’s translation are in Plume, World Literature in Translation, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Quiddity, and the Atlanta Review. [Image: Anna Dikareva]
