Anastas Petkov is a documentary photographer based in Bulgaria. His first series, The Cruelest Theater (2012), focused on the seaside town of Burgas and its main summer attraction—a beat-up concrete pier stretching out into the Black Sea....

For Danubians (2015) he journeyed along the Danube River to explore the connection between the river and the local people. In 2016 he documented Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s latest project in northern Italy for the series Christening, part of which will appear in the forthcoming book The Floating Piers by Taschen.
