Aoi Matsushima

Aoi Matsushima is a London-based translator into Japanese and into English. Aoi was born, educated and worked in Tokyo until 1997, when she moved to the UK. She was a runner-up in the 1st JLPP (Japanese Literature Publishing Project) International Translation Competition in 2012. She has taught translation at various universities, and is currently a visiting lecturer at MA in audiovisual translation at Leeds University and at Roehampton University. She has an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University College, UK, and has won the Asham and Decibel Penguin Awards. She has a BA in English Language from Sophia University, Tokyo.
