Aurora Lauzardo has a BA in comparative literature the University of Puerto Rico and a PhD in romance languages and literatures from Princeton University. She is a tenured professor at the Graduate Program in Translation, College of Humanities, University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and is currently the acting associate VP for academic affairs of the University of Puerto Rico. Her publications include the English translation of “On the brevity of writing” by Vanessa Vilches Norat in Short Fiction in Theory and Practice; the Spanish translation of “Puerto Rico: sede de la frontera del Mar Caribe (1940-1945)” by Fitzroy André Baptiste in Puerto Rico en la Segunda Guerra Mundial: El escenario regional; the English translation of the play Mother’s Day by José Ignacio Valenzuela and Julián Quintanilla (2011); and the Spanish translation, in collaboration with Waldemar Burgos, of the play Marisol by José River. She was the leader of an international group of scholars who translated selected scenes from The Dog in the Manger that were stage read in the Chamizal Classical Theater Festival in 2016.
