Brady Ryan is a PhD student UCLA, where he researches Arabic literature. He provided the English translation of the lyrics to the Moroccan singer OUM’s 2019 album Daba. He met Essayed while participating in a workshop for Arabic language teachers at Alexandria University, where their translation partnership began.
