Céline Minard

“The biography of a writer,” Céline Minard has insisted, “is their library.” She has confirmed the fundamental details, however: she was born in 1969 in Rouen, France, and after studying philosophy, she worked as a bookseller before devoting herself entirely to writing. Her novels are well known both for their philosophical depth and for their brilliance in yoking together disparate styles and eras. Her best-selling Western, Faillir être flingué (Near Got Shot), won the Prix Virilo, the Prix du Style, and the Prix du Livre Inter, while So Long, Luise received the Franz-Hessel-Preis. She now lives in Paris.
