Cyprienne Toazara grew up speaking colonial French in the northeast of Madagascar. She works as a French instructor, in addition to her numerous writing publications. One of her short-story collections, Au fil de la sente, has been published in France. In Madagascar, Toazara publishes poems, stories, and children’s literature, in addition to hosting several radio programs.
