David Payne lives in Hanoi, Vietnam, and divides his time between translation of Vietnamese prose and poetry, and civil society, public health and climate change projects. His translations and original writing have appeared in Asymptote Journal, White Horses magazine in Australia, the Mekong Review, and in collections by Ajar Press. He is currently translating a novel by Trần Dần, supported in part by a grant from the Henry Luce Foundation and the Translation Project Group/AAS Southeast Asia Council.
