Edina Szvoren (1974) is a short-story writer who lives in Budapest, and teaches music theory and solfeggio. She received the European Union Prize for Literature in 2015 for her collection of short stories Nincs, és ne is legyen (There Is None, Nor Let There Be, 2012). In a recent survey conducted by the literary journal Jelenkor, Szvoren’s 2010 collection Pertu (On Intimate Terms, 2010) was voted the second best short story collection in Hungary in the last thirty years, with her other two collections also figuring on the list of thirty best collections.
