Eduardo Sánchez Rugeles

Eduardo Sánchez Rugeles (Caracas, 1977) has published four novels (Blue Label, Libros de El Nacional, 2010; Transilvania Unplugged, Alfaguara, 2011; Liubliana, Ediciones B, 2012; Jezabel, Ediciones B, 2013) and one book of short fiction, Los Desterrados (Ediciones B, 2011). Exile, nostalgia, love unrequited–these and similar strands are shot through in this young writer’s fiction with flashes of irony and knowing winks to cultural and media icons. He is occasionally driven to flirt through parody with some of the established genres (Roman Noir, Bildungsroman). Sánchez Rugeles currently lives in Madrid.
