Gianni Riotta was born in Palermo, Italy, in 1954. His books include NY, on the aftermath of September 11th, and Global War, essays on the Iraq War. His novel Prince of the Clouds was short-listed for the Prix Medicis. He is the deputy editor of the newspaper Corriere della Sera, and he has contributed articles to The Washington Post, Le Monde, and Foreign Policy.
