Helen Wang

Helen Wang translates contemporary Chinese literature. Her first translations were published in the 1990s: short stories and essays by Yu Hua, Ma Yuan, Zhang Chengzhi, Du Ma, and Zhang Langlang....

 Her most recent translations include Cao Wenxuan’s novels Bronze and Sunflower and Dragonfly Eyes, and Lu Min’s novel Dinner for Six (co-translated with Nicky Harman). Her translation of Bronze and Sunflower won the 2017 Marsh Christian Award for Children’s Literature in Translation Award. She works collaboratively with the China Fiction Book Club, Paper Republic, Global Literature in Libraries, and Chinese Books for Young Readers.
