Iván Thays (Lima, 1968) has written the story collection Las fotografías de Frances Farmer (Pedernal, 1992) and the novels Escena de caza (Santo Oficio, 1995), El viaje interior (Peisa, 1999), La disciplina de la vanidad (FEPUCP, 2000), Un lugar llamado Oreja de perro (Anagrama 2008), Un sueño fugaz (Anagrama 2011) and...

El orden de las cosas (Alfaguara, 2012). Un lugar llamado Oreja de perro has been translated into French, Italian, and Portuguese, and his stories have appeared in anthologies in Peru, Mexico, the United States, Colombia, and Spain and have been translated into English, French, and German. Thays won the Príncipe Claus Prize in 2000 for his contributions to culture. He was runner-up for the 2008 Herralde de Novelo prize. He directed the polemical literary television program "Vano Oficio" for seven years; presently, he oversees the literary blog “Moleskine Literario” and is a contributor to "Babelia" in the newspaper El País.
