Kaur Riismaa was born in 1986. He published his first collection of poems, Me hommikud, me päevad, õhtud, ööd (Our Mornings, Our Days, Evenings, Nights), at twenty-five. He has published an additional six volumes and two novels. The recipient of numerous prizes, he is considered one of the most talented writers of Estonia's younger generation.
