Kholoud Saleh is a PhD candidate at the University of California, Los Angeles. She studies physiology and is investigating cell-based therapy for a muscle-wasting disease. Kholoud was born to Palestinian immigrant parents and raised in Qatar. Although she is a science major, her love for Qatar inspired her to work toward the preservation of its culture. The way that Qatari folktales are told is unique and captivating, and she found collecting and recording them a meaningful way to share this exceptionality with the world.
