Kim is the pseudonym for Joaquim Aubert Puigarnau. Born in Barcelona in 1941, his first illustrations appeared in the music magazine Vibraciones. In 1977, he helped to found the legendary satirical weekly El Jueves, where he continues to publish to this day. He is perhaps best known for his series Martínez el facha (Martinez the Fascist), which skewers the political foibles of the Spanish Right. Along with Antonio Altarriba, he was awarded Spain’s 2010 National Comic Prize for his work on The Art of Flying.
