Lieve Joris has published widely acclaimed books on the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Her translated work includes Back to the Congo, The Gates of Damascus, and Mali Blues. Her latest book, The Rebels' Hour, was published in the United States in April 2008. Born in Belgium, she now lives in Amsterdam.
