Mabel Cuesta is a Cuban-born critic and writer. She is a graduate of the University of Havana (Cuba), University Complutense of Madrid (Spain), and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. She has published three collections of short stories in Cuba and Spain. Her work also appears in several anthologies in the United States, Honduras, Mexico, Spain, and Cuba. She has published more than a dozen peer-reviewed articles on her current research, which focuses on Spanish Caribbean female authors, both in their homeland and abroad. Her field of expertise is Latin American and US Hispanic literatures, Caribbean studies, and literary theory.
