He has published three nonfiction books: Día de visita (Visiting Day), No soy tu cholo (I Am Not Your Cholo), and De dónde venimos los cholos (Where We Cholos Come From), listed by the New York Times en Español as one of the most important books of 2016. He is currently writing a memoir about his experience as a Latino immigrant in a not very nice time for Latino immigrants.
