Martin Auer

Martin Auer was born in 1951 in Vienna. He studied German and History but never completed his degree; he worked as an actor, a singer-songwriter, a journalist and a magician before publishing his first book in 1986. He has gone on to publish over 40 titles, many of them for children. Among his honors are the Austrian National Prize for Children's Literature; he has also been nominated for the Hans Christian Andersen Medal.
