Megan McDowell has translated books by Alejandro Zambra, Samanta Schweblin, Diego Zuñiga, Mariana Enriquez, Carlos Fonseca, Lina Meruane, and Gonzalo Torné, among others. Stories she translated have appeared in the New Yorker, the Paris ReviewTin HouseHarper’sVice, and the Virginia Quarterly Review. Her translation of Alejandro Zambra´s Ways of Going Home won the 2013 English PEN award for writing in translation, and since 2016 has been included in the NEA’s national program The Big Read. Her translation of Samanta Schweblin's novel Fever Dream was long-listed for the 2017 Man Booker International Prize. She is from Richmond, Kentucky, and lives in Santiago, Chile.
