Melanie Taylor Herrera is a Panamanian author of poetry and prose and a professional musician. She holds a technical diploma in violin performance, a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in music therapy. Taylor Herrera’s works include Tiempos Acuáticos, Amables Predicciones, Microcosmos, Atrapasueño, and Camino a Mariato, which was awarded the 2009 Central American Rafaela Contreras prize. Her writing has received international recognition and has been translated into English, French, German, and Polish. English translations of her writing by Christina Vega-Westhoff appear in Asymptote, Ezra, Metamorphoses, PRISM International, and Exchanges. She is on Twitter: @cuentosalgarete
