Muhammed Zafar Iqbal

Muhammed Zafar Iqbal is the Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Engineering and Director of Institute of Information and Communication Technology. He is the author of more than 150 books of fiction and science fiction as well as titles on science and mathematics. His books have earned him numerous awards including the national Bangla Academy Award. Many of his novels have been adapted for the screen. He is a popular columnist for several national newspapers, writing mostly about education and social issues. He has written several dramas, among which is a UN-assisted television series stressing the necessity of education for underprivileged children. He is also a social activist and has mobilized a nationwide movement to popularize science, mathematics, computer programming, and informatics among the children of Bangladesh.
