Najwa Bin Shatwan is a Libyan academic and novelist. She is the author of three novels: Waber Al Ahssina (The Horses' Hair, 2005); Madmum Burtuqali (Orange Content, 2008); and Zareeb Al-Abeed (The Slave Pens, 2016), in addition to collections of short stories and plays. She was chosen as one of the thirty-nine best Arab authors under the age of forty by the Beirut39 project of the Hay Festival. Zareeb Al-Abeed was shortlisted for the 2017 International Award for Arabic Fiction (IPAF).
