Natascha Bruce translates from Chinese. Recent short story translations have appeared in Granta, Wasafiri, Asia Literary Review, and Pathlight. She was joint winner of the 2015 Bai Meigui competition and recipient of a 2016 ALTA Emerging Translator Mentorship, working with mentor Jeremy Tiang. Her sample of Ho Sok Fong's Lake Like a Mirror won a 2017 PEN Presents award. Current projects include Lonely Face, by Yeng Pway Ngon (forthcoming from Balestier), Sound of Nature, by Xu Xiaobin (a co-translation with Nicky Harman, also forthcoming from Balestier) and Lake Like a Mirror (forthcoming from Portobello). She lives in Hong Kong.
