Nawzat Shamdeen was born in Mosul, Iraq, in 1973, and lives in Norway. He has worked as a newspaper, radio, and television editor. He is the author of the novels Half a Moon, The Collapse of a Cellar, and The Splinters of Fairoz, and has received awards for his fiction and journalism.
