Osmanjan Muhemmed Pas’an was born 1981 in a village near Guma, in the south of China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. From the age of sixteen, Pas’an’s poems have been published widely in Uyghur-language journals, and he has emerged as a leading member of the “Nothingism” school of Uyghur poetry. He currently lives in Ürümchi, Xinjiang’s capital.
