Owen Martell

Owen Martell is an awardwinning Welsh-language novelist. He was born in Exeter in 1976 and grew up in Pontneddfechan, in the Neath valley, though he now lives in Cardiff. He published his first novel, Cadw dy ffydd, brawd (Stay strong and prophetic), in 2000. It won the Gomer 2000 First Novel prize and was named Arts Council of Wales Book of the Year in 2001....

His second novel, Dyn yr Eiliad (The other man), was published by Gomer Press in December 2003 and was short listed for the Welsh Book of the Year Prize. Recently, he has been writer-in-residence at the Welsh Department, Cardiff University, where he has been researching his third novel, to be published in late 2004.
