Petre Dimovski

Petre Dimovski was born 1946 in Brod, near Bitola, Republic of Macedonia. After finishing high school he went to work in Australia. In 1975 he graduated from the Faculty of Philology in Skopje, then worked in education and journalism in Bitola....

He was editor in chief of the newspaper The Insured, editor of the prose part of the magazine Development, and editor in chief of the magazine Growth. He initiated and managed the manifestation Bitola literary memory. He is editor in chief of the magazine of the Macedonian Writers’ Association, Pivot.

In 1973 he published his first book, the short-story collection Turning Points. He has published sixteen novels, twelve collections of short stories, and six plays. The ongoing publication of his collection of stories A Thousand Fourteen contains one thousand and fourteen stories in eleven volumes, divided into fourteen cycles, totaling about five thousand pages.

He has received many Macedonian literary awards. He lives and works in Bitola.
