Robert Elliot has been an active campaigner and writer against racism and intolerance in Italian society since moving from his native London to Ferrara in 1983, where, in the early 1990s, he helped found the migrant rights organization “Cittadini del Mondo.” His most recent book translation is Theatre of Exile by Horacio Czertok (Routledge, 2015) and his publication projects include Nella mia tendopoli nessuno è straniero (La Feltrinelli, 2013). In 2015 he coordinated the “Migrant Choir Project,” in which a group of recent migrants to Italy sang the national anthems of three European countries at the Venice Biennale and the Internazionale Festival in Ferrara, as a protest against the injustice of borders.
