Ros Schwartz

Ros Schwartz is an award-winning translator from French of over one hundred works of fiction and nonfiction, including the 2010 edition of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Le Petit Prince. Her translations include works by Aziz Chouaki, Dominique Eddé, Mireille Gansel, Yasmina Khadra, Max Lobe, Ousmane Sembène and Georges Simenon. In 2009, she was made a Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. She is cofounder of a series of literary translation summer schools held in UK universities, and she regularly publishes articles on literary translation, including a chapter in The Translator as Writer, (Eds. Susan Bassnett and Peter Bush), published by Continuum. She is a Royal Literary Fund Fellow based at Kings College London.
