Sahar Mandour

Sahar Mandour (b. 1977) is a Lebanese-Egyptian writer, journalist, and novelist. She worked as an editor at the newspaper Assafir (Beirut) from September 1998 until January 2017....

 She is the author of four novels: sa’arsum najma ‘ala jabīn fīyenā (I’ll draw a star on Vienna’s forehead, 2007); ḥubb beirūtī (A Beiruti love, 2009); 32 (2010; published in English translation in 2015) and mīnā (Mina,  2012). Mandour earned an MA in Media Studies, with a focus on gender, from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London in 2015. She is currently the Lebanon and Jordan researcher at Amnesty International. Her area of expertise covers issues of gender, social movements, and cultural production in Lebanon, Egypt, and Palestine.
