Tobias Hecht's first book, At Home in the Street, was published by Cambridge University Press and won the 2002 Margaret Mead Award. His latest book, After Life: An Ethnographic Novel, grew out of interviews collected over the course of a decade with a homeless Brazilian youth. His translation of a collection of short stories by Cristina Peri Rossi is entitled The Museum of Useless Efforts. For more information:
