Look Who’s Coming to the WWB Gala on October 30!

Meet the stellar writers and translators who will mingle with guests and host tables at WWB’s annual celebration of international literature.

Amitav Ghosh, Dunya Mikhail, Katie Kitamura, Andre Dubus III, Ann Goldstein, Edith Grossman, Esther Allen, and Martin Puchner are among the stellar writers and translators who will mingle with guests and host tables at WWB’s annual celebration of international literature, which will occur on October 30, 2018, at Tribeca Three Sixty° in New York. Chad W. Post, director of Open Letter Books, will be honored with the 2018 Ottaway Award, presented to him by Deep Vellum publisher Will Evans.

Co-chaired by Samantha Schnee, Cristóbal Pera, and Gabriella Page-Fort, with vice chair James Ottaway, Jr. and honorary chair André Aciman, and emceed by Rakesh Satyal, the fifteenth anniversary gala will bring together exciting figures in literary publishing and translation and raise much-needed support for WWB’s mission to foster greater cultural understanding through literature. A record ten publishing industry sponsors have joined as champions of WWB, including longtime supporters Other Press, FSG, and Maria B. Campbell Associates, and AmazonCrossing will underwrite the after-party.

We’re thrilled that more than two dozen WWB contributors will also be in attendance, including Rodrigo Hasbún, Glaydah Namukasa, and Kim Thúy. Jennifer Croft, winner of the 2018 Man Booker International Prize for her translation of Olga Tockarzuk’s Flights, will be one of the Globe Trot hosts to welcome a second wave of revelers following the gala dinner.

You can find a full list of special guests and supporters below. We hope that you’ll join the celebration on October 30. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit wwb-gala-2018.eventbrite.com.
