Translated Around the Web

By Bud Parr

If you're reading 2666 yet not interested in the gossip columns on Roberto Bolaño, you may enjoy the thoughtful conversation going on about the book in this "bolaño-l" discussion group, hosted by the person who has a blog devoted to the author, "Las obras de Roberto Bolaño."

There's also this article in the Christian Science Monitor, called "A translator's task – to disappear," which isn't about that so much, but about Natasha Wimmer, translator of 2666.

Moving to Europe, you might enjoy "A Conversation with Dwayne D. Hayes, editor of Absinthe" at Calque. Absinthe is a great lit journal devoted to publishing new European writing.

Or you might enjoy Jacket Magazine's feature on New Russian Poetry.
