Etienne Lécroart
Etienne Lécroart (b. 1960) is a French cartoonist and musician. He began his career in 1986 and has published extensively in newspapers, magazines, and journals. He has published numerous books and has also illustrated books written by others, and his work has appeared in a number of anthologies. He was awarded the Lauréat du Trophée Presse-Citron 1999 and the Grand Prix de l'Humour Noir Grandville 2003. He is a member of Oulipo and Oubapo.

Matt Madden (b. 1968) is a cartoonist who also teaches at the School of Visual Arts and in workshops around the world. His work includes 99 Ways to Tell a Story: Exercises in Style (Penguin), a collection of his comics adaptation of Raymond Queneau's Exercises in Style; a translation from the French of Aristophanes's The Zabime Sisters (First Second); and Drawing Words & Writing Pictures and Mastering Comics (First Second), a pair of comics textbooks written in collaboration with his wife, Jessica Abel. The couple are also series editors for The Best American Comics from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. He is currently on an extended residency in Angoulême, France, with his wife and their two children.
